Buddy Abroad
Buddy Abroad™ is an educational board game for 3-8 players that prepares students for short-term travel abroad through:
- Introducing students to events that may happen on their trip
- Emphasizing the importance of packing strategically
- Normalizing the need to monitor their wellness and wellness of their peers
- Creating social ties in class before travel
You and your fellow travelers pack your bags and set out for a week-long adventure full of unpredictability and fun. Each day, you’ll draw event cards that impact how you’re feeling. If you’ve packed your bags appropriately, or one of your friends can help you out, you’ll have a better time as the week progresses. After playing through seven days, you all pack your bags up to return home. If every player ends the game with a positive Wellness balance, you win! Pack your bags, find your pals, and get ready to study abroad with Buddy Abroad™.

[Game Name] is based on New York Times’ “36 Questions to Fall in Love”, and is designed to bring players emotionally closer together by the game’s conclusion.
The questions range from surface level topics to deeper, more impactful queries. Players will navigate through the game together and gain points based on the questions they ask and answer. As the game progresses, the intent is the players grow more comfortable and warm towards each other, resulting in the card art warming and becoming more welcoming through the three tiers of difficulty.
